WCRP日本委員会は、今回のアメリカとイスラエルによる武力行使、それに続くイランの報復攻撃に対し、強い危惧と深い憂慮の念を表明します。中東において激化する軍事行動と武力衝突の連鎖を断ち切るために、すべての当事者に対し、一刻も早く武力行使を停止することを求めます。
戦争において、傷つきいのちを奪われるのは常に多くの無辜の一般市民です。イランでは、小学校が攻撃を受けて多数の死者を出したとの報道もあり、私たちは深い悲しみをもってこれを受け止めています。
アメリカ、イスラエル、イランをはじめとする報復の連鎖は、中東地域一帯に広まる様相を呈しています。今こそ世界の人びとは、人類が二度の世界大戦の惨禍を経て築き上げてきた、国際法の遵守に基づく国際社会の安定という原点に立ち戻らなければなりません。
その実現のために、私たちは、国連ならびに紛争の平和的解決に尽力するすべての関係者の取り組みに対し、全面的な支援と連帯を表明します。報復ではなく、武力行使と暴力の連鎖を断ち切る決断こそが求められています。そして何よりも、人命の保護と救出が最優先されなければなりません。
厳しい情勢の中で、私たちは「人間の尊厳の回復」を呼びかけ、武力に依存した世界ではなく、対話が紡ぎだすゆるぎない信頼関係を礎とした、国際協調と共生の生き方へと転換する必要があります。
私たち宗教者は、一人ひとりのいのちの尊厳が守られることを呼びかけます。
私たち宗教者は、尊いいのちをもった人類同士が争い、互いに傷つけ合う現実を憂います。
私たち宗教者は、すべての人がその尊厳に目覚めるよう祈り、即時停戦を呼びかけ、平和の実現に向けて行動を続けます。

Religions for Peace Japan expresses its grave concern and profound deep apprehension regarding the recent use of force by the United States and Israel, and the subsequent retaliatory attack by Iran. In order to break the escalating cycle of military action and armed confrontation in the Middle East, we call upon all parties to cease the use of force immediately.
In times of war, it is invariably innocent civilians who suffer injury and loss of life. Reports of an attack on an elementary school in Iran, resulting in numerous casualties, have reached us with deep sorrow and anguish.
The cycle of retaliation involving the United States, Israel, Iran, and others threatens to spread further across the Middle East region. Now more than ever, the international community must reaffirm its commitment to the fundamental principles of international order grounded in the observance of international law—principles established by humanity in the aftermath of the devastation of two world wars.
To this end, we express our full support and solidarity with the United Nations and with all those working tirelessly toward the peaceful resolution of conflict. What is required is not further retaliation, but the collective resolve to break the chain of force and violence. Above all, the protection and preservation of human life must remain the highest priority.
Amidst these grave circumstances, we call for the “restoration of human dignity.” We must move away from a world dependent upon force to one founded upon international cooperation and peaceful coexistence, sustained by bonds of trust nurtured through sincere dialogue.
We, as religious leaders, call for the dignity of every single life to be protected.
We lament a reality where human beings, each endowed with precious and sacred life, continue to harm one another.
We pray that all people may awaken to the dignity inherent within themselves and others, join in calling for an immediate ceasefire, and continue to act toward the realization of lasting peace.
