In the March board meeting, WCRP/RfP Japan approved a plan to organize a Jubilee Ceremony to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the First World Assembly of WCRP on November 24 in Kyoto.

The actual event will take place at the Kyoto International Conference Center, the exact location the original Assembly took place in 1970.

WCRP/RfP Japan is drafting the program for the ceremony including a symposium with guest speakers Dr. Jyuichi Yamagiwa, the former President of Kyoto University, and Ms. Naoko Yamazaki, a former astronaut at JAXA.
